Amy

My cousin Amy lost her battle with cancer yesterday. I was scheduled to photograph her 3-year-old daughter Katie that afternoon–-something her mom (my aunt) wanted to get done before Amy passed so that she could enjoy the photos too–-but I received a phone call saying that it didn’t look like Amy would make it through the day.

I feel awful for my family and for Amy’s daughter. I got to spend a lot of time with Amy when we were kids, but I’m really sorry we didn’t know each other very well as adults. This photo was taken the last time I saw her––several months before she was diagnosed.

I can’t say anymore about this. None of the words seem right at all. All I can say is I know how much she will be missed by those who love her and I’m happy she’s no longer suffering.
